Internal Boiler Access

AIRA is engaged across a multitude of power stations to carry out their clinker removal and NDT inspections.

Using advanced rope access skills, coupled with remote rescue techniques, AIRA has carried out these works over a ten-year period on many different boilers units. We have a self-imposed mandate that a rescue must be able to be completed in under 3 minutes.

Confined spaces, coupled with the possibility of a very difficult rescue scenarios has meant that AIRA is the go to company to carry out these works. Our OH&S documentation is under constant scrutiny due to the complexity of the works and we are often audited at a Class A (contract value in excess of 20 million dollars) and have successfully passed each audit.

AIRA is contracted for planned routine maintenance shutdowns but is also contracted to carry out short notice (48-hour notice) call outs. Emergency shutdowns are all about returning the unit to operational status in the quickest period as possible without compromising on any safety issues, as millions of dollars in production value can be lost in a single day.

Recently AIRA was able to facilitate a 30-hour turnaround from notice of shutdown being given to AIRA completing their works and leaving site.

Australian Industrial Rope Access has demonstrated on many occasions that we have the qualifications, skills and work ethic to complete the works in a timely and safe manner. Coupled with our rescue planning and documentation, we are unrivalled in these difficult and potentially hazardous works.
